How does this work?

You fill in the form above and submit it. I receive the submitted form, create your account and mail you back a password to the email address you've provided.

Why do you need my email address?

So I can mail you your password and confirm your login name, on the off-chance that somebody else has already picked that name (or if you've picked an offensive one; your login name is what is displayed against your comments).

Why not just auto-generate a password and give it to me? Why do you need my email address, damnit?

So that I have a way of contacting morons who spam quotes with idiotic or offensive comments. If you're not a moron, you have nothing to worry about. I have no interest in your email address per se. I'm not going to sell it or give it away to spammers. Unless you act REALLY stupid.
